I was fascinated by these two small rovers sent to Mars, Spirit and Opportunity. They landed on Mars in 2004 and were scheduled to operate for 90 days and travel 600 meters at most.
Ultimately, Spirit has traveled more than 7 km before becoming silent in 2010. His colleague
Opportunity, maneuvering on a lot easier, is still running and has traveled over 19 miles!
